Recently, Nico Bour, CEO of Joppy, had a fascinating conversation with Juan Castillo, founder of GuruWalk, about the importance of company culture and how they have implemented it in their organization. Having known Juan for years, Nico can tell you that he is truly passionate about company culture: it’s not just a facade, he is dedicated to constantly cultivating it. His approach may seem radical, but what really stands out is that his authenticity works, as evidenced by the success of his company.
Here some of the most revealing insights Juan shared during the talk:
➡ No Fixed Goals: At GuruWalk, employees have no predefined goals. This lack of pressure can foster creativity and autonomy, allowing each team member to find their own path.
➡ No Managers: The traditional management structure has been eliminated, which empowers employees and gives them the freedom to make decisions about their work.
➡ Individual Work Decision: Each team member is responsible for deciding which projects they want to work on, which enhances their sense of belonging and commitment.
➡ Salaries Without Negotiation: The company has chosen not to negotiate salaries, which simplifies processes and creates some equity within the team.
Nico was so enthusiastic about the conversation that he could have been talking to Juan for hours. From Joppy, they want to thank Juan for sharing his experience and knowledge, and encourage everyone to follow him on his social networks, it’s worth it!
This talk is part of a new series we’ve dubbed #JoppyTalks – yes, original, right? 😂- where we aim to tackle interesting topics that impact recruiting and the business world. While the audio quality may improve over time, we’re excited to launch this initiative and continue to share valuable content with our community – don’t miss out!
